First time

So it’s your first time in the hiit house?

You’re going to love it!

The Warm Up

Each class starts with a guided mobility warm up that is designed to get you mind and body ready for 12 rounds of HIIT Mau Thai fighting. You will then be guided by an instruction on how to correctly throw jabs, crosses, hooks, uppercuts, kicks, knees and elbows. Muay Thai allows the use of all of these strikes.

The Fight

The fight is made up of twelve x 3 minute rounds. Every call will be spent breathing and sweating through combinations and functional movements. The instructor will be demonstrating, assisting and pushing you. This is your fight.

The cool down

Class will wind down with a cool down and stretch. This is a critical component of the class as it help to prevent muscle stiffness preparing the mind and body for the rest of your day.

FAQ

What is Muay Thai?

Muay Thai translates to “Thai Boxing.” Muay Thai is Thailand’s traditional martial art, allowing the use of fists, elbows, knees and feet (the “art of 8 limbs”).

What is class like?

Class is 50 minutes long and is a fast-paced, full-body workout. Our instructors have fight experience and will lead you through different combinations on our custom and exclusive Bishop heavy bag, set to motivating music. You will learn proper form, get a cardio and strength workout and feel like a bad*ss.

What if it’s my first time?

Welcome! Our friendly front desk will check you in and give a quick breakdown of the class structure (please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the start of class). Gloves are required and can be purchased or rented from the studio. Class is barefoot or with socks.

I’m scared. I don’t want to get punched in the face.

In class, the only opponent you are fighting is yourself. Don’t be intimidated; you’ll be guided through class by experienced trainers and only striking Bishop (no bruises, no black eyes).

I’m out of shape. I’m scared class will be too hard.

Our class was designed for all levels, from very beginner to professional fighters. Your instructor will teach you proper form for every strike and you can go at your own pace during combinations. As long as you’re breathing, you’ll be fine! (Maybe even smile a bit.)

Can I choose what Bishop I beat up?

Yes! Want to be close to the door, by the window or next to a friend? No problem. Once you purchase a class credit, you can book your Bishop by viewing our studio floor plan.

Is this a traditional fight camp?

Hit House is not a traditional fight gym. We are offering Muay Thai as a drop-in group class format inside a luxury studio with boutique fitness amenities. Fight-based fitness that is challenging and also really fun (at least, we think so). Interested in enhancing your Muay Thai skills or learn one-on-one? Check out our personal training options.

I’m stuck at work. Can I cancel class?

You can cancel up to 12 hours prior to class without penalty. Last minute emergency or sickness? Please call or e-mail us. For your safety and the safety of others, we can only accommodate late entry during the first 10 minutes of class.
